How to Delete a Room Category

A room category is a collection of identical rooms on your property. The rooms have the same decor, bed type, and bathroom. As an example, if you have four rooms with "Deluxe" Queen beds with ensuite bathrooms and all are sold for the same rate, they should be in the same category, e.g., the Deluxe Queen Ensuite.

You may want to change your room categories or delete them as your property evolves. RoomRaccoon allows you to delete the room categories you don't want on your property anymore on the condition that:

• The room category is not attached to any booking engine such as Booking.com or Expedia

• You have removed all past, present and future bookings

• Rooms in that category have been unlinked

Once you have checked the above and rectified it, you can delete the room category. 

Important: The deletion of room categories is final. Please ensure that you have a backup of your content used in case of mistaken deletion.

How to delete a Room Category

1. Access the “My Property” Module in the left-hand sidebar.

2. Navigate to the Categories tab and pick the category you want to delete. Click on the pencil icon to edit your category.

3. Scroll down, and you will see an option to “Remove permanently”.

4. Click “remove permanently” and accept the warning prompt by clicking “ok”.

5. Finally, see the banner notification of “removed successfully” to confirm the deletion of your room category.
