This guide explains how you can personalise your RaccoonCardMachine to suit your property’s needs. Customise language, regional settings, receipt format, and terminal behaviour to ensure a smooth experience for your team and guests.

Mind that these settings must be adjusted by our team, therefore, you must reach out to support with the desired changes.

Language

  • Primary language: You can choose what is the main language shown on the terminal.

  • Secondary language: Add another language available on the terminal. Not only useful for foreign guests, but also for a multi-language reception team.

  • Exclude shopper languages: Prevent specific languages from appearing on receipts. The terminal language will be used instead.

    • Tip: Use if you only want receipts printed in one language.

Timezone & Formatting

  • Timezone: Set your correct local time on the terminal.

    • Example setting: Europe/Amsterdam

  • Amount Format: Define how prices and totals appear on receipts and reports.

    • Example setting: EUR 9.999,99

Signature & Terminal Name

Ask for Signature

What it does: The Shopper is asked to sign on the screen or on the printed receipt (when required by card schemes).

Skip Signature

What it does: Skips signature for supported cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex).

Device Name

What it does: Name used internally to identify the terminal.

  • Example setting: Raccoon Hotel

Device Slogan

What it does: Shows a short custom text on the terminal display (optional).

Branding

Logo

You can add your logo to the terminal display. Requirements: 

  • Size: 720 x 1280 px recommended

  • Format: BMP, JPG, JPEG, PNG (GIF is converted)

  • Max size: 1 MB

Kiosk Mode

Hide Navigation Bar

What it does: Hides Android’s bottom bar to prevent shoppers from accessing system functions.

Note: Your system functions are always protected by your passcodes.

Home Screen & Menus

Home Screen Customization

Available on:

  • Android terminals (from version 1.90)

  • Verifone VOS terminals (from version 1.85)

Settings Menu Button

What it does: By default, you have a shortcut to open the terminal settings on your home screen. This can be deactivated.

Transaction Menu Button

What it does: By default, you have a shortcut to view recent transactions on your home screen. This can be deactivated.

Receipt Settings

Print Receipt

What it does: Defines which transaction outcomes should trigger receipt printing.

Supported triggers:

  • Hotel: Approved, Refused, Cancelled, Refund Approved, Refund Refused, Void

  • Guest: Approved, Refused, Cancelled, Refund Approved, Refund Refused, Void

Receipt Options

Receipt Image

What it does: Adds your logo or image to the printed receipt.

Specs:

  • Size: 384 x 240 px

  • Format: BMP, JPG, JPEG, PNG (GIF is converted)

  • Max file size: 256 KB

QR Code on Receipt

What it does: Includes a QR code on receipts with custom data (e.g., booking links, surveys, loyalty info).

Prompt Before Printing

What it does: Asks if the guest’s receipt should be printed after a transaction (optional for sustainability or digital-first setups).

Receipt Lines – Header

Customise the header of your printed receipts with branding and styling:

  • Header Line 1 - Example: Hotel Raccoon

  • Header Line 1 Text Style - Example: Bold, Large Font

  • Header Line 2 - Example: Welcome – We hope you enjoy your stay!

  • Header Line 2 Text Style - Example: Italic, Medium Font

Terminal Passcodes

Passcodes protect sensitive actions on your terminal, such as initiating refunds or accessing the settings menu.

Transactions Menu Passcode - mandatory

Where it's used: Opens the Transactions menu on Android terminals.

Format: 4–6 digits

Admin & Settings Menu Passcode - mandatory

Where it's used:

  • Opens the Settings menu on Android terminals.

  • Opens the Admin menu on standalone terminals.

Format: 4–6 digits

Refund Passcode - optional but recommended

Where it's used: Required to initiate a refund on standalone terminals.

Format: 6 digits

Screen Lock Passcode - optional but recommended

What it does: Used to unlock the terminal screen.
