PayPal is a payment method only available with the oldest version of RaccoonPay.
PayPal payouts
PayPal is a "direct payment" payment method, meaning that the payment provider of raccoonPay 1.0 is not the one responsible for the PayPal payouts. The money is directly transferred from the guests' PayPal account to yours.
How to set up PayPal as a payment method
Step 1: Provide your PayPal account details
Open a ticket to our support team informing:
Your PayPal ID (the email address you use to log into PayPal)
A link (URL) to where you hosted your logo
The desired background colour of the PayPal screen in HTML colour code (Default: #FFFFFF = white).
Step 2: Granting PayPal API Rights to RoomRaccoon
Log in to your PayPal account and select Profile.
Go to My Sales Resources
Go to Update Access API
Select Account Information – API Access or Account Information or Request API Credentials - it will depend on the PayPal version you’re using.
Select option 1 - Grant API permission.
In the field Third Party Permission Username, please fill in: development_api1.docdatapayments.com.
Be sure to check all 13 boxes to grant full access rights. From Use Express Checkout to Process payments and Issue a refund for any prior transaction.
Good to know
- If the steps above are not followed and confirmed, the payment provider will not have permission to process your PayPal payments. This will result in reversed/cancelled payments.
