Negotiated rates are a powerful way to build guest loyalty by offering special discounts to repeat guests or business partners. With RoomRaccoon, you can assign negotiated rates directly to specific bookers, which can then be applied to manual bookings or automatically recognised through your Booking Engine.
What Are Negotiated Rates?
A negotiated rate is a custom discount tied to a guest or booker profile. It can be either:
A percentage discount off standard rates, or
A fixed amount reduction per night
These rates are ideal for:
Returning leisure guests
Corporate clients or travel agents
Long-term partnerships
How to Set Up a Negotiated Rate
Go to the Bookers & Guests module in your RoomRaccoon account.
Open an existing Booker profile, or create a new one with the relevant details.
Scroll down to the Negotiated Rate section.
Choose the type of discount: percentage or fixed amount.
Select the rate types this negotiated rate should apply to, or choose to apply it to all.
Click Save to finalise the setup.
Once saved, the negotiated rate will apply to all future bookings made under that booker profile.
Booking With a Negotiated Rate
You can apply the negotiated rate in two ways:
1. Manual Reservations
When entering a reservation manually for the associated booker, the negotiated rate will be applied automatically.
2. Booking Engine Access
Returning guests can benefit from negotiated rates when booking through your Booking Engine:
The guest enters their email address during the booking process.
RoomRaccoon checks if their profile includes a negotiated rate.
A code is emailed to the guest to verify their identity.
Once entered, the negotiated rate is applied to the booking.
This allows your returning or VIP guests to book at a discounted rate without needing to call or email you directly.
Why Use Negotiated Rates?
Increase direct bookings
Reward loyal guests or returning companies
Automate loyalty discounts without needing coupon codes
Keep your public pricing consistent while offering exclusive deals privately
