How to Translate Your Content

Modified on Fri, 04 Nov 2022 at 08:52 AM

Translating content is key to maintaining accurate information internally and externally for your hotel. We encourage translating documents for more international bookings as guests have the option of choosing a language in which they are comfortable.

There are a few tabs in the RoomRaccoon for translations such as price types, booking conditions, invoices etc. These places can be identified with the languages tab.

Room Descriptions

On the Room descriptions tab, you may translate your content into different languages. To make this impactful we encourage you to keep descriptions concise. Since your guest has already clicked the call to action on the website, there’s no need for long descriptions.

Documents

Then there are the documents. Also here you will find some tabs. The tabs with a light grey color indicate to be 'active'. By clicking on them you can see if they actually contain a translation. The standard documents have already been translated by us. You can activate this by clicking on ''Add new document'' and then give it a name and save it. You can also add text again.

How to add a translation for a tab.

  1. Select the language you’d like to translate to. Dark grey language tabs mean that there is translated content and light grey mean content has not been translated for the language.

  1. Create your description.

  1. Click Save!

Good to know!

  • The booking engine is linked to the website. Use the website for all details and RoomRaccoon for special features and specific instead of repeating the same info on the website.

  • Always verify rates as you would not want a situation where rates are in Spanish but the descriptions are in Dutch - this can create a lot of confusion for guests.
