Managing Booked Add-ons with Channel Corrections

Modified on Tue, 11 Apr, 2023 at 11:36 AM

Booking channels allow you to offer add-ons and breakfast is one of the most common ones. See the following example of how RoomRaccoon receives information from Booking.com when an add-on is booked

  1. RoomRaccoon PMS sends the rates (i.e. €100,-) that you have set up in the RoomRaccoon Channel Manager to Booking.com

  1. Booking.com displays this price to their bookers and displays the breakfast amount   (€10,-) as an add-on to be added to the booking

  1. The total amount of the booking is now €110,- which Booking.com sends to RoomRaccoon

  1. RoomRaccoon matches the booked rate type and recognises the additional €10,- which is being added as a channel correction

If you want to offer your guest to book a room in your hotel or B&B incl. breakfast, we recommend that you set up rate types that include breakfast. This way you do not get any more channel corrections and your all-inclusive rate is found on Booking.com if guests filter for breakfast included rates.

Good to know

  • Even though you will have to pay commission for the breakfast on the booking channel, this is also the case if you offer breakfast as a bookable add-on on Booking.com or any other external channel.
