How to Connect VRBO with RoomRaccoon

Modified on Wed, 18 Jun at 11:46 AM

This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of connecting VRBO with RoomRaccoon. By following this guide, you can ensure a smooth and comprehensive approach to connecting these two platforms.

Step 1: Connection Request

The connection needs to be requested by you and can be done by submitting a support ticket or reaching out to our support team via phone.

Step 2: Form Sent by Support Team

Once your request is received, our support team will notify our connectivity team and will send a form to you via ticket.

This form contains fields for the required information needed to complete the connection. It is crucial for our connectivity team to have all this information in order to proceed.

Step 3: Pre-Connection Steps

Before filling out the form, you will need to complete the below steps to ensure a smooth connection process:

  1. Manually add all VRBO reservations into RoomRaccoon, as access to them in VRBO will be unavailable after the connection is completed. Remember to add HomeAway as the booking source in order for this to populate correctly.

  2. Navigate to the 'My Property' section in RoomRaccoon and accurately fill out the 'Address' and 'Amenities' sections for each category.

  3. Create a maximum occupancy rate labeled "VRBO" for each category to be connected. Please see our Help Center Article on How to add a Rate Type.

  4. Upload a minimum of 6 images (with a maximum of 25) for each category, ensuring a minimum resolution of 1920x1024. Please see our Help Center Article on How Do I Upload My Pictures of My Room Types.

  5. Gather the following required information for each category:

    • Name,

    • Headline,

    • Description,

    • Minimum Booker Age,

    • Maximum Occupancy,

    • Currency,

    • Language,

    • Check-in Time and Check-out Time,

    • Confirmation on whether Children are Allowed.

Step 4: Client Form Submission

Once you have completed the Pre-Connection Steps, you can proceed with filling out the provided form.

This step is essential for our connectivity team to proceed with the connection.

Please ensure that all the required information is provided accurately in the form.

Important: please ensure you notify the Customer Support team once you have filled out the form.

Step 5: Connectivity Team to Action

Our connectivity team will now take action and proceed with the connection process using the information provided.

Once this has been added, RoomRaccoon support will send you the final steps to finalise on VRBO's self-onboarding page.

Step 6: Final Confirmation and Support

Once the connection is completed, our support team will provide final confirmation to you that the connection has been successful.

Our team is here to assist you and ensure a seamless experience with the VRBO and RoomRaccoon connection.

Good to know

  • Unlike other OTA connections, RoomRaccoon does not send anything to VRBO. VRBO pulls rates, availability and content from RoomRaccoon. The rates and availability are pulled by VRBO every hour.

  • All payments are processed by RoomRaccoon. For this reason, in order to make use of this connection, you must have RaccoonPay activated in your account.

  • At this time, listings in South Africa cannot be connected because VRBO does not advertise in ZAR (yet).

  • You can edit your content for the connection through the Marketplace by clicking on the edit pencil on the VRBO tile.

  • You have the option to mark VRBO reservations as cancelled via RoomRaccoon (unlike other OTA connections).

  • You are able to adjust the date range of the reservation via RoomRaccoon (not through VRBO). Changing the date range will not break the link between RoomRaccoon and VRBO for that reservation, unlike other channel connections.
