What is HostelWorld?
HostelWorld is a leading global distribution channel dedicated to the hostel market. With millions of travellers searching for budget and social stays, connecting your property to HostelWorld can significantly increase visibility and bookings.
RoomRaccoon integrates with HostelWorld via a platform hub. This means the connection is indirect—RoomRaccoon does not connect directly to HostelWorld but through a third-party hub solution.
What is the Hub?
The hub is a hotel software platform operating in more than 90 countries. It connects hoteliers to a wide range of online travel agencies (OTAs) through channel management services. RoomRaccoon plugs into this hub to provide access to channels, like HostelWorld, where a direct connection isn’t available.
How Does the Connection Work?
RoomRaccoon connects to HostelWorld via the hub (not directly).
An additional monthly fee applies for the hub connection. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for details.
Payments and Refunds
HostelWorld does not share credit card data with channel managers. Credit card details can be accessed directly through the HostelWorld back office for processing.
HostelWorld does not guarantee protection against fluctuating exchange rates, which may impact final booking payments.
Rates, Availability & Restrictions
HostelWorld does not support check-in/check-out restrictions.
Rates are sent from RoomRaccoon to the hub and then updated to HostelWorld.
HostelWorld may apply promotional discounts or offers that must be managed directly in their portal.
Only one rate can be connected to HostelWorld through the hub. If you have multiple rate types (non-refundable, corporate, etc.), these must be handled directly in HostelWorld.
How to Request the Connection
To set up the connection between RoomRaccoon and HostelWorld:
Contact HostelWorld support and request them to set Wubook as the channel manager (hub).
Reach out to the RoomRaccoon support team and provide:
Your HostelWorld account ID. (If you don’t know it, HostelWorld support can assist.)
A room category mapping (RoomRaccoon vs HostelWorld categories) including unique channel IDs.
The rate name in RoomRaccoon that should be connected to HostelWorld for each category.
Important: A room category can only be connected once per channel. For example, if Category A in RoomRaccoon is linked to Category A in HostelWorld, you cannot also link it to Category B in HostelWorld.
